High Septon's Crown

One of the illustrations I had the pleasure of making for "The Rise of the Dragon, An Illustrated History of the Targaryen Dynasty, Volume One" by George RR Martin, Elio García and Linda Antonsson.

The crown of the High Septon is briefly described as a tall crown that includes crystals that break the light into the seven rainbow colors.
I thought it could have a gold heptagonal base with seven small faces with engraving symbols of the seven gods. These faces are splitted by small figures of the seven too. This base is the structure to hold 7 crystals that simulate the spikes of a classical crown.
My idea was to play with the concept of a King's crown but intentionally made up, which in my opinion is a metaphor of the High Septon's power on Westeros society. That's the reason because it's tall, but the height is given by glass and light instead of metal structure. The base is gold but not very shiny, and the expensiveness is made by small details, so you must be close to the crown to see them. If, on the contrary, you are part of the crowd in the far distance they're totally invisible, and the crown looks finally humble.

About the crystals, the idea was making them not too big to make the crown lighter and also as added pieces instead of part of the structure.
